How thermal imaging finds hidden leaks

Hidden heating leaks traced before floors are lifted or walls opened.

Thermal camera image of heating pipework under a floor

A thermal camera shows where heat is and isn't. When a heating pipe leaks under a floor or behind a wall, the escaping hot water shows up as a warm patch, which narrows down where to look before anything is lifted.

Where it helps

Pipework under floors

Leaks in heating pipes under solid and suspended floors, narrowed down before anything is lifted.

Underfloor heating

Leaks in underfloor heating pipework traced along the loop.

Behind walls

Buried and boxed-in heating pipework checked without opening up whole walls.

What to expect

Thermal imaging works best with the heating running, so the pipes are warm. It narrows down the area; Ross then confirms the leak and quotes the repair before any work starts. Less is lifted, and the repair is quicker.
